So Kathy has been out in the Bay Area since the beginning of June to prepare for the wedding and Brendan in the meantime was driving across country, stopping first at archives in the Midwest for historical research. For a fun ending to the trip, Kathy flew to Salt Lake City to drive with Brendan the rest of the way back to the Bay Area. On the way, we stopped on the Bonneville Salt Flats in western Utah to make a design with rocks on the vast desert of salt. We also drove through Reno and visited Kathy's Aunt Julie, Uncle John, and Counsin Jeffrey, which was a lot of fun. We also restrained ourselves from driving into one of the wedding chapels and eloping with the help of a minister dressed as Elvis!
